THE WHITE HOUSE PROJECT 9TH ANNUAL EPIC AWARDS HONORS MARIE WILSON

THE WHITE HOUSE PROJECT'S 9TH ANNUAL EPIC AWARDS HONORS ITS FOUNDER MARIE WILSON.

On April 7, The White House Project's 9th Annual EPIC Awards took place at the IAC HQ in New York honoring Outstanding Efforts to Promote Images of Powerful Women in Pop Culture.This year's awards honored Marie Wilson, creator of Take Our Daughters to Work Day® & Founder & President of The White House Project. Winners of EPIC Awards included Director Doug Liman for Fair Game, writer/director Dee Rees for Pariah, Duane Baughman, director of Bhutto, ESPN producer Ben Houser for ESPN's E;60 and Jennifer Siebel Newsom for Miss Representation. This year marked the first EPIC Awards of The White House Project's new president, Tiffany Dufu. Presenters included White House Project Board Member Geena Davis, Bloomberg anchor Margaret Brennan and Covert Affairs star Kari Matchett, who hosted The EPIC Awards After-Party. Gabi Wilson, winner of Barbie’s “I Can Be” Award, performed.

The White House Project is a non-profit organization which aims to advance women’s leadership in all communities and sectors—up to the U.S. presidency—by filling the leadership pipeline with a richly diverse, critical mass of women.

Mahsa Pelosky was the EPIC Awards Event Chair. Co-Chairs of The EPIC Awards were Gerry Laybourne, Chairwoman, Alloy Media Inc. & Robert Eckert, Chairman, Mattel.
